Ekhaya Football Club, fresh off a convincing 3-1 victory against Mzuzu City Hammers, is set to face Dedza Dynamos this afternoon at Dedza Stadium. The Cowboys, who’ve been in Lilongwe for the past week, are aiming to secure their second consecutive road win and return home with a valuable six points.
Ekhaya FC coach Enos Chatama acknowledged the challenge ahead, recognizing Dedza Stadium as a formidable venue for visiting teams. “Dedza is a fortress Stadium, a lot of teams struggle to get points. Dedza Dynamos is a tough team at home but we will fight at least to get something at the end of the day,” Chatama stated.
Despite Dedza Dynamos’ reputation, Chatama expressed confidence in his team’s preparation and ambition. “We are prepared and we are geared for Saturday’s game against Dedza Dynamos. It is going to be a different game all together. We cannot talk about the 3-1 win [against Hammers], it’s history now. We have to look forward for another game,” he said.

This afternoon’s clash pits two teams with contrasting recent fortunes against each other. Dedza Dynamos will be looking to rebound from a significant loss to Mighty Wanderers and climb the league table, leveraging their home advantage.
Their recent Super League form has been a mixed bag, with two wins, one draw, and two losses in their last five outings. While they secured a dominant 3-0 victory over Songwe Border FC and a 1-0 win against Civil Service United, they also suffered a 4-0 drubbing by Karonga United and played out a thrilling 3-3 draw with Kamuzu Barracks.
Ekhaya FC, on the other hand, arrives with strong momentum, having secured three wins, one draw, and only one loss in their last five matches. Their impressive 3-1 away victory against Mzuzu City Hammers underscores their ability to perform on the road, and they’re eager to maintain their early-season form and solidify their position among the league’s top contenders.
While Dedza Stadium is known as a tough ground for visitors, Dedza Dynamos have shown some vulnerability at home this season, having already lost three matches there to Mzuzu City Hammers, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, and Karonga United.
Chatama believes his players are fully aware of what’s at stake. “They are a good team, but our players know what we want, our ambitions which is staying in the league. We have to fight every game if we are to stay in the league next season. We have to fight from the first whistle to the last whistle. It will be the game that the best team will get the win,” he concluded.
