Despite not competing in any other tournament apart from the cup, Moya is confident the team will achieve great things in the near future. He revealed plans to build a squad capable of competing in regional competitions soon.
“We were not given a chance to reach this far, but we have made it because of our dedication,” Moya said.
He indicated that he will provide appropriate motivation to the technical panel and players ahead of their quarterfinal clash against Blue City FC, scheduled for Friday at Dedza Stadium.
“We want to go all the way to the final, but we will take each step as it comes,” he added.
Five teams have reached the quarterfinal stage, with four set to face off in the quarterfinals while Mkutu FC have been seeded directly to the semifinals.
Following the quarterfinal matches, the best loser will join the three winners for a semifinal draw alongside the seeded Mkutu FC.
The quarterfinal matches are scheduled for Thursday and Friday this week. On Thursday, Kalinyeke will take on Thete FC, while Dedza Pirates face Blue City on Friday. All matches will be played at Dedza Stadium.
