The Dedza District Sports Office has urged netball enthusiasts in the district to participate in an organized netball umpiring and coaching Level 3 course scheduled for October 13-19, 2025.
Responsible officer Janet Makawa made the appeal, indicating that the office wants the game to be run professionally by people with proper knowledge.

“It has been a long time since we had this kind of course in the district, and I am calling on all interested participants to be part of this training,” Makawa said.
She believes the district has enough talent that needs to be exposed, but there is a need for officials to be properly trained in their roles.
“Working with people who have proper knowledge in the game helps in developing it. That’s why we are calling for more participants in this course,” Makawa emphasized.
Call to Coaches
Meanwhile, General Secretary for Dedza Netball Committee Possiano Zakeyu has appealed to all coaches in the district to take advantage of this opportunity to acquire the required knowledge.
“Many of those coaching different teams in the district have never attended any course, so this is their opportunity to do so,” Zakeyu said.
Youths between the ages of 15-25 who are secondary school leavers and University graduates have been encouraged to participate in the course and they will not pay registration fees.
All interested participants are required to pay a course fee of K20,000.
The course was initially scheduled to take place in August but was postponed to this month.
