Dedza District Football Association (DDFA) has strongly condemned what it calls lack of sportsmanship by some clubs playing in the Saint Louis High School Dedza District Football League.
This follows the serious injury to Soccer Saints player Aubrey Malembo who has been admitted at Kamuzu Central Hospital after being injured by goalkeeper for Mkutu FC Joseph during a league match over the weekend.
General Secretary for the association Hashim Shosholoza Adam said what happened was out of football and the association will not tolerate such kind of acts.

“We don’t want to lose someone’s life in the league and we strongly condemn what happened last week,” He indicated.
Meanwhile, Joseph has been banned for six months while his captain Precious Tsoka has been banned for six matches for assaulting referee (Lloyd) during the same game plus a fine of K40,000 for his behavior and Mkutu FC have been directed to pay K50,000 for failing to control the behavior of their players.
Shosho further advised teams to follow proper procedures when misunderstandings arise rather than inciting violence indicating that it is putting their sponsorship in danger.
“Our sponsors already made it clear that they don’t want issues of violence in the league and as an association we will do whatever it takes to jealously guard for the sponsorship,” he said.
Saint Louis High School are sponsoring the league at a tune of K5 million.
Thete FC are currently leading the log standings in the league of 16 teams
