The Dedza District Football Association (DDFA) has announced plans to introduce a Division One League in the district, aimed at providing competitive opportunities for teams currently excluded from the Saint Louis High School Dedza District Football League.
DDFA General Secretary Hashim Shosholoza Adam confirmed the development in an interview with Wa Mpira, explaining that the district has numerous teams unable to participate in the existing league due to limited capacity.

“Our aim is to have as many teams as possible playing competitive football in order to promote the game in line with the transforming football agenda,” Adam said.
According to the general secretary, the association is in advanced discussions with a potential sponsor for the new league, with an official announcement expected soon.
“We are almost 70% done with our discussions and our sponsor is ready to provide full financial support,” he added.
Adam has called on teams not currently participating in the Saint Louis High School Dedza District Football League to maintain their squads, as the new division is set to launch in the near future.
The initiative represents DDFA’s commitment to expanding football participation and development opportunities within the district.
