Adam expressed satisfaction with the competition’s progress, highlighting how it has helped uncover previously unknown talent in the district.
“It is a competition that has provided a proper platform to rural-based teams to showcase their talent,” Adam said.
The General Secretary urged teams advancing to the next stage to maintain the same level of discipline and sportsmanship demonstrated in the opening round.
“They have proved to us that football is a fair game and we hope the same rhythm will be maintained as we proceed with the competition,” he added.
Adam also reminded participating teams about additional opportunities available through the newly introduced National Bank of Malawi league, particularly for U-23 players.
“Let me take this opportunity to thank FAM for giving us more competitions this year, which I believe is in line with the transforming the game agenda,” he noted.
The DDFA official revealed that recent capacity-building training attended by district football administrators would have positive impacts on the game’s development. He encouraged more teams to participate in the various leagues and competitions now available.
The successful completion of the preliminary round sets the stage for the next phase of the competition, with participating teams having demonstrated that grassroots football in Dedza can be conducted with both competitive spirit and proper conduct.
