Off the back of a 3-0 win over Dedza Dynamos in their previous game, the Servants were looking to continue with the winning streak and their good start summed it all up.

Abbas Makawa decided to start with five offensive players leaving the defensive duties in midfield to Moses Banda only. China Chirwa agonizingly missed the target with his left-footed effort with only Semion Harawa to beat.

Knowing that they were yet to beat Moyale Barracks since 2017 in all competitions, on a cloudy afternoon, they were the team which were likely to score first as they attacked through the left with Chikaiko Batison in the thick of the action, but the effort was thwarted by Harawa.

After absorbing the pressure, Moyale Barracks moved out biting with the star of the day, Chifundo Damba breaking on the right flank before putting the ball on the mouth of the goal targeting Raphael Phiri on the far end but Goalkeeper, Blessings Juma was quick to leave his line to avert the danger.

The left side of Civil Service United looked busier than the right flank, Muhammad Biason called the keeper into action after being released by Moses Banda.

Raphael Phiri stabbed his former team with the last kick of the first half. Civil opened up in their defense with Emmanuel Allan’s brilliant move, he cut inside before releasing a thunderbolt that was palmed away by the keeper and Phiri’s left-footed effort was too much for him as the hosts took the lead before the break.

Looking for goals in the second half saw Civil Service United pinning Moyale in their own half but Black Alissen’s defence was so solid for the visitors.

Emmanuel Saviel’s introduction escalated the attack for Civil, with the support from the home fans, Moyale Barracks managed to hold the visitors.

Civil were pushing for an equalizer and leaving the gaps at the back was the option then. Moyale punished the Servants in the last 10 minutes with two goals in three minutes.

Chifundo Damba spinned away from Damian Kunje before setting up Charles Nkhoma who leaped higher to plant his header into the back of the net in the 81st minute.

Damba turned from provider to scorer two minutes later, Khumbo Mhone beat Masiya Manda before putting a brilliant cross that was met by Damba who tapped it home to complete the humiliation.

Moyale Barracks will have another home game in their next game as they welcome Dedza Dynamos Football Club while Civil Service United will face Kamuzu Barracks who beat rookies, FOMO FC 3-1 in Lilongwe on Saturday afternoon.
