Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed that he will not participate in the upcoming Club World Cup, despite receiving offers from participating teams. The 40-year-old forward’s current club, Al-Nassr, failed to qualify for the tournament.
Ronaldo’s contract with Al-Nassr is set to expire at the end of June, sparking speculation about his future. FIFA President Gianni Infantino had previously suggested the possibility of Ronaldo joining a team involved in the Club World Cup.

However, Ronaldo dismissed the idea, saying, “I will not be at the Club World Cup. Some teams reached out to me. Some made sense and others did not, but you can’t try and do everything.”
Ronaldo’s future beyond June appears uncertain, but he hinted that a decision is “almost final.” Al-Nassr are reportedly confident about extending his contract, despite Ronaldo’s social media post suggesting otherwise, according to BBC Sport.
The striker has had a successful stint with Al-Nassr, scoring 99 goals in 111 appearances. He recently scored the winning goal in Portugal’s 2-1 victory over Germany, securing their spot in the Nations League final against Spain.
