The Central Region Football Association (CRFA) has called on teams participating in the K15 million CRFA TVM Division One league to uphold high levels of discipline. The appeal aims to protect the league’s image and its sponsor.
CRFA Chairperson Goodall Chinjoka made the plea on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Chimbiya Ground in Dedza district, during the official launch of the league, which featured a match between Chimbiya Stars and Simbi FC.
“We are sponsored by an individual associated with a ministry that preaches love and peace. Therefore, our teams must embody that spirit,” Chinjoka emphasized. He warned that any misconduct could jeopardize the crucial sponsorship.

“Given the current economic situation in the country, it’s not easy for someone to commit such a significant amount of money. We don’t want to lose this opportunity,” he lamented. Chinjoka also revealed plans to seek additional sponsors to enhance the league’s value alongside Apostle Vitumbiko Mkandawire’s support.
He further urged teams to primarily field Under-23 players to foster a strong league of young talent, aligning with the “Transforming the game” agenda for future development.

Senior Group Kudemela expressed gratitude to the CRFA for launching the league in their area, calling it a significant motivation for their team. “They have shown us respect with this event, and we’re happy as it will go down in history,” he stated.
The inaugural match between Chimbiya Stars and Simbi FC ended in a goalless draw, despite numerous chances from both sides.
A total of K634,000 was collected during the launch event, which will be donated to charity work at a hospital in the country.
Twenty teams are expected to compete in the league. The champion will walk away with K3 million, while the runner-up will receive K1.8 million at the end of the season.
