The first round of the CRFA TVM Division One league has concluded with intense competition among the teams, as the top three sides finished level on points and the fourth-placed team sits just one point behind.

After all teams played seven games, Creck Sporting Reserve finished top with 12 points—the same tally as Kalembelembe FC and Simbi FC, who are second and third respectively. However, Creck leads on goal difference with a margin of seven, compared to Kalembelembe’s five and Simbi’s one.

Play Football Malawi finished seventh with eight points, while Lobi Young Soccer sits bottom with only three points from a possible 21.

General Secretary for the Central Region Football Association (CRFA), Antonio Manda, described the league as highly competitive and expressed hope for a similar trend in the second round.

“I feel like the competition in the second round will be even more intense, with teams fighting for honors,” Manda said.

He also commended Apostle Vitumbiko Mkandawire of Time for Victory Ministries (TVM) for the sponsorship.

“Without TVM, we could not have this kind of competition. Thanks to them, we are enjoying the game,” he said.

Meanwhile, fourth-placed Chimbiya Stars’ patron, Stampa Malu Chisoni, remains optimistic that the team will compete for the title.

The top three teams will be promoted to the Premier Division League at the end of the season, with the champions pocketing K3 million and the runners-up receiving K1.8 million.

The league is sponsored by Apostle Mkandawire to the tune of K15 million.
