The Malawi’s Central region football governing body (CRFA) inconjuction with the Sponsors, Chipiku Stores will this afternoon launch the highly anticipated 2025 season.
The ceremony will take place at Mangoes ground in the lakeshore district of Salima where Armour Battalion football club will battle it out against the 2024 FAM Moto Division one league Champions, Blue Eagles Reserve.
The central Region Football Association (CRFA) general secretary, Antonio Manda says they anticipate a very competitive season after the Sponsors increased the package of the league.

He stated”Preparations have gone on very well and for the first time ever teams have paid full registration fees, taken on board qualified coaches, registered Chipiku league competition in the CMS and 5 referees will be available at each and every game.
“Very much ready and we should expect very competitive league this season considering the fact that teams are quite aware of what they expect from our esteemed sponsor. Very remarkable strides we are taking in quest to transform our league.”
Meanwhile, Blue Eagles Reserve head coach Christopher Sibale has vowed to start the league on high note despite being newcomers in the league.
” We are anticipating a very crucial game against Armour Battalion who have been in the league for quite sometime but we are upbeat to match their intensity. We are motivated to at in the Premier and my boys are motivated as well, this is their time to market themselves as these games are also patronized by many scouts from elite teams” Sibale said.
His counterpart, Armour Battalion coach, Jonnex Mpondawaya said they want to start well as they did in the previous season, he however acknowledged to face a very difficult game against Eagles Reserve who have just joined the league.
“We haven’t seen them playing so we are expecting a tough match. We are very focused this season to start and finish the league on a high note unlike last season when we struggled in the second round”, Mpondawaya said.
This season the league will be competed by 16 teams unlike in the past when the league had 24 teams. Three teams will qualify into the newly established National Division League after the end of the season.
The Sponsor, Chipiku Stores has increased the sponsorship package from k19.8 million to k25 million this year.
