The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has delivered a strong message regarding player discipline, fining Creck Sporting Club and handing out significant bans to three of their players – Miracle Gabeya, Hadji Wali, and George Chaomba – for assaulting FCB Nyasa Big Bullets players during their recent Airtel Top 8 match in Lilongwe.
The incidents, which occurred off-the-ball, drew widespread condemnation and prompted a swift response from the football governing body.

According to the FAM’s disciplinary findings, the players’ actions were in direct violation of articles 23.3 and 23.4 of the 2025 Airtel Top 8 Rules and Regulations, read together with article 14.1 (l) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code.
George Chaomba was sanctioned with a two-match ban across all competitions and a straight red card, effective immediately. Chaomba was found to have elbowed FCB Nyasa Big Bullets player, Henry Chiwaya, in an off-ball incident.
Hadji Wali received a more severe penalty, a four-match ban across all competitions and a straight red card, also effective immediately.
Wali’s misconduct involved stepping on the hand and leg of FCB Nyasa Big Bullets player, Maxwell Phodo, who was lying on the ground during an off-ball situation.
Finally, Miracle Gabeya was sanctioned with a three-match ban across all competitions and a straight red card. Gabeya was found guilty of assaulting FCB Nyasa Big Bullets player, Babatunde Adepoju, by stepping on his hand in an off-the-ball incident.
In addition to the individual player sanctions, Creck Sporting Club itself has been hit with a One Million Kwacha (K1 million) fine.
FAM stated that the club failed to take all necessary precautions to prevent their players from assaulting the FCB Nyasa Big Bullets players.
