Civil Service United produced a dominant display to dismantle Mzuzu City Hammers 4-0 in a one-sided TNM Super League encounter at Civo Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Frank Chizuze opened the scoring in the 28th minute after Blessings Malinda had tormented the Hammers’ backline with his clever movement and precision passing. Moments later, Malinda again turned provider, curling in a delightful free kick that Dustan Banda nodded home to double the hosts’ lead.

The Hammers, already on the back foot, failed to regroup and were punished again just before halftime. A goalkeeping blunder saw Precious Chipongu pick out Banda, who made no mistake from close range to seal his brace and give Civil a commanding 3-0 lead at the break.
Civil continued to dictate play in the second half, with Moses Banda, Damiano Kunje, and Malinda pulling the strings in midfield. The fourth goal came in the 75th minute when substitute John Dambuleni rose highest to head in from a corner, leaving the visitors stunned.
Mzuzu City Hammers made a few tactical changes in the second half, including the introduction of Jeremiah Kanyika and Eric Kaonga, but they couldn’t contain the pace and flair of Civil’s attacking unit.
Blessings Malinda, who registered two assists and created multiple chances, was deservedly named Man of the Match.
The win sees Civil climb up the log, sitting on 22 points from 14 games. For the Hammers, it was a day to forget, as they struggled both offensively and defensively against a ruthless Civil side.
