By Grant Isaac at Dedza Stadium
Former Dedza Dynamos FC man Charles Chipala came off the bench to score a 75th minute equalizer as he denied his former club their first win of the season at Dedza Stadium on Sunday.
Dedza were coming from a frustrating week after suffering a three nil defeat against Civil Service United last weekend while Peter Mponda’s side wanted to continue their fine form to the season following back-to-back wins against Chitipa United and Bangwe All Stars.

Victor Lungu scored his first league goal for the team since his transfer from Civil Service United in 2022 as he headed home connecting a cross from the right flank by Lameck Gamphani on 39th minute.
Silver Strikers who were better on the ball during the opening 10 minutes of the game, tried to get a quick equaliser with some good attacking moves by Binwell Katinji, Chimwemwe Idana, Adiel Kaduya among others but Dedza defense led by captain Justice Chihoma was well organized with Lughano Kayira, Frank Chikufenji and Khumbo Banda communicating well with their goalkeeper Anthony Singini and the first half ended 1-0 in favor of the hosts despite creating a number of chances through Gamphani Lameck and Promise Kamwendo who were all denied by goalkeeper George Chikooka.
Come second half, Silver Strikers made a triple substitution bringing in Charles Chipala, Zebron Kalima and Paul Kasungwi for Uchizi Vunga, Adiel Kaduya and Gift Chunga before introducing Stanie Davie for Mark Fodya as they were looking for more attacking options.

Kalima’s introduction proved to be a turning point for the bankers as they started coming into the attacking half wave after wave and Chipala gave them what they were looking for on 75th minute.
Dedza made their substitutions as well taking off Balakasi and Lungu for Limbani Phiri and Rodwell Robert and the injured Edward Dakalira was replaced by Gift Magola.
In his post match interview, coach for Dedza Dynamos FC Andrew Bunya was a disappointing man with the result saying that they wanted nothing but a win.
“Not a good result for us because we had many chances especially in the first half which could have given us our first win but we failed to utilize them,” Bunya said.
His counterpart Peter Mponda was a satisfied man with the point gained at Dedza Stadium.
“The guys have done well especially the substitutes responded well to instructions,” Mponda indicated.
The Centra Bankers remain second on the log table level on points with the current league leaders Mighty Mukuru Wanderers on seven points from three games while Dedza drop to the relegation zone with only two points on position 14.
Meanwhile, the game grossed K11,726,250 with each team getting MK2,954,943.75 as the owner’s of the ground went home with MK2,462,453.12.
