FCB Nyasa Big Bullets are prepared to rival TNM Super League rookies, Ekhaya FC for the signature of Civil Service United midfielder, Moses Banda, Wa Mpira can Reveal.

In June, Wa Mpira reported that Ekhaya FC had already reached an agreement to bring Banda on board, but the deal has since hit a snag. The new development comes as Bullets look to strengthen their squad after losing two key midfielders.

Bullets coach Peter Mponda acknowledged the loss of Lloyd Aaron but expressed confidence in his current squad.

“We have unfortunately lost our Captain, someone who was highly influential on and off the pitch, it’s certainly a big loss for us,” Mponda said.

“But I strongly believe that we have players in the squad who can step up and fill that gap. Yes, the boots are too big, but we have capable individuals ready to rise to the occasion and deliver for the club.”

Despite Mponda’s confidence, the departures have created a noticeable gap in the team. While Paul Master and Frank Willard have been stepping up in recent matches, neither is a natural ball-winner, an area where Banda excels.

Bullets have long admired Banda’s play, but previously favored Lloyd Aaron, especially after his performance at the 2023 COSAFA tournament.

This isn’t the first time Banda’s future at Civil Service United has been uncertain. In January, he nearly joined Silver Strikers, but the club ultimately pulled out of the deal after signing Festus Duwe and Felix Demakude.

Banda’s current contract is nearing its end, and he has not yet agreed to a new deal with Civil Service United.

Civil fights to keep their star player

Moses Banda: target for Bullets and Ekhaya

Civil Service United, however, is not giving up on their star midfielder. The club has put a hold on discussions with both Bullets and Ekhaya as they make their own play to keep him.

Wa Mpira reports that Civil Service United has offered Banda a new contract and the unique opportunity of a government job. Details about the new contract and the specific job have not yet been released.

Banda has been a crucial player for the Servants since being promoted from the club’s reserve side. He is expected to hold a new round of talks with Civil this week to discuss his future. A decision is anticipated after these discussions.

The transfer window is set to open on Friday, and Bullets remain hopeful that if Banda decides to leave Civil Service United, he will choose them over Ekhaya.
