FCB Nyasa Big Bullets will be without key players Yankho Singo and Chikumbutso Salima for their Sunday clash against Mighty Tigers, as both players picked up injuries while on national duty with the Malawi National Team at the Cosafa Cup in South Africa.

Bullets First Assistant Coach, Gilbert Chirwa, confirmed the development on Thursday during a pre-match press conference in Blantyre.

“Players who were with the national team are back but some of them are injured,” Chirwa told the media. “Chikumbutso Salima and Yankho Singo will be given a week or so to recover.”

The injury concerns don’t stop there for the People’s Team. Chirwa also confirmed that striker Hassan Kajoke and Kenyan defender Clyde Senaji Navade have been ruled out of the game as they continue their recovery from respective injuries.

“We are going to miss them because they have been our key players, but we have enough players who can take their places and do the job,” Chirwa added, expressing confidence in the depth of his squad.

The news comes as Bullets look to bounce back from a 1-0 defeat to their arch-rivals, Mighty Wanderers, a result that halted their 100% winning start to the season.

Despite the setback, Bullets remain at the top of the 16-team table with 18 points from seven games. They will be hoping their squad depth can see them through this period of injuries as they aim to consolidate their position at the summit of the league.
