Mighty Wanderers head coach Bob Mpinganjira has praised the performance of young players Adam Wallace, Rajab Nyirenda, and Blessings Mwalirino following their narrow 1-0 victory over Dedza Dynamos last Sunday at Dedza Stadium.
Rajab Nyirenda was handed his debut, starting as a number 10 in Mpinganjira’s 3-5-2 formation, while Adam Wallace operated as a wing-back. Mwalirino partnered with Clement Nyondo as the two strikers.
However, Rajab’s debut was cut short due to injury, and he was replaced by Isaac Kaliati, who went on to score the winner.

The match was the Nomads’ first game since their heartbreaking defeat to Jwaneng Galaxy in the CAF Confederation Cup.
“Youngsters Impressing Coach”
Speaking after the game, Mpinganjira commended the young players for their efforts and determination to earn game time.
“We can see how these players are performing—Wallace, Rajab Nyirenda, Blessings Mwalirino. It’s unfortunate that Rajab got injured in the first half, but he showed that he is a very good player. We just have to encourage them so that they continue to perform well on game days,” he said.
Mighty Wanderers entered the game under pressure to deliver a much-needed result to stay within touching distance of leaders FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, who claimed a hard-fought win over Silver Strikers.
Isaac Kaliati rose to the occasion, showcasing his individual brilliance with a long-range effort that beat the Dynamos goalkeeper with ease.
Following the victory, Wanderers remain four points behind their city rivals Bullets, but crucially have a game in hand.
“Win Provides Motivation”
Mpinganjira described the victory as a significant morale boost for his squad.
“It was a very good game. We showed the character that we need, although we didn’t score in the first half. In the second half, we got the goal. I’m very happy that we have won and have three points in the bag.
“Indeed, it’s a motivation, and winning away is something special. I must commend the guys for working very hard. This win is very important for us in the title race. It’s a good result, and the race is still wide open,” said Mpinganjira.
What’s Next
Wanderers will enjoy a break until the end of the FIFA International window in October. They will then face Creck Sporting Club in the quarterfinals of the FDH Bank Cup.
