Mighty Wanderers Head Coach Bob Mpinganjira has provided an update on the availability of attacking midfielder Isaac Kaliati for their crucial game against Blue Eagles scheduled for Wednesday afternoon in the Capital City.
Kaliati, who was the top goal scorer last season, limped off injured in their penalty shootout win against Creck Sporting Club in the FDH Bank Cup on Sunday. There have been fears that he would miss today’s encounter and also Sunday’s Blantyre Derby match against FCB Nyasa Big Bullets.

However, providing team news updates on Tuesday, Mpinganjira said the midfielder trained with the team but his availability awaits clearance from the club’s medical staff.
He also confirmed that Clement Nyondo, Gaddie Chirwa, Chimwemwe Nkhoma and Mphatso Kamanga remain sidelined for the game.
“Isaac Kaliati trained with us today [Tuesday]. We will, however, wait for the doctor’s report tomorrow [Wednesday] morning to determine if he is available for selection. Clement Nyondo is out for tomorrow just like Gaddie Chirwa, Mphatso Kamanga and Chimwemwe Nkhoma,” he said.
Kaliati has been a consistent performer for the Nomads this season despite having limited minutes earlier in the campaign. He has scored crucial goals, including netting in the team’s last league match against Dedza Dynamos in Dedza.
Mighty Wanderers will be looking to get maximum points from Nankhaka Ground to close the gap on their rivals before Sunday’s Blantyre Derby. They are currently trailing in the race by seven points following Big Bullets’ win on Tuesday against Mafco FC.
The Nomads have collected 42 points from 18 matches while Blue Eagles are seventh with 28 points from 19 games.
