A battle that started with numerous teams at regional level before narrowing to 12 at national level is now down to just four teams vying for the prestigious One Nico Top 12 Netball League title.

Blantyre-based giants Tigresses and Kukoma Diamond will face off against Lilongwe heavyweights Civonets and Blue Eagles Sisters in the semifinals after successfully navigating the previous rounds.

The semifinals kick off this morning at Don Bosco Netball Courts, with the finals scheduled for later today. The final rounds of the games will begin with a third-place playoff between the losing semifinalists.

Nico Group of Companies has invested MK1 billion to sponsor the tournament over the next three years. While three teams from each region qualified for the national stage, the semifinals feature only Southern and Central Region representatives.

The Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) says the tournament is fundamental to developing netball in the country, with a focus on nurturing young talent for the national team.
