The TNM Super League leaders, Silver Strikers, have agreed on a one-year deal with Betting and Lottery firm, Betway Malawi which will see the company pumping in K65 Million to the Bankers.
This was unveiled on Friday in Lilongwe when the two sides signed their agreement which will see the Bankers benefitting kit Sponsorship and other benefits from the betting company.

The company’s Chief Cooperation Officer, Charles Phiri, said he expects both sides to benefit in the partnership as they opted for the Bankers because it is a big team in Lilongwe and also it’s stable in the League.
He said: “We looked at a club that has been stable and has been long in the country as we as a club that has community grassroots so we saw that Silver Strikers is a club of that and also it’s a big team in Lilongwe and we also that other clubs have those sort of partnership but Silver Strikers work only with Reserve bank.”
Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of Malawi, Macdonald Mafuta Mwale said he expects more from the team as far as commercialization is concerned and he expects the club to grow through the move the club is taking.
“The news is very exciting and obviously as the main sponsor of Silver Strikers we have always preached and we have always pushed the club through the board and executive to start headways into the commercialization drive and I think this is not just the beginning but it’s big for us.” Said Mwale.
The Bankers through their Chief Executive Officer, Patrick Chimimba, said the team has been looking for a shirt Sponsor band thanked Betway for their timely assistance and they will protect their brand by performing very well and avoiding violence.
“Silver Strikers we are very excited about partnering with Betway, an internationally recognized brand from February when we asked for partners, we put up a call for partners and one of the issues we wanted was a shirt sponsor and we had an overwhelming response and we happy that today we are launching a shirt sponsor after a long period.” Explained Chimimba.
The partnership will stay for one year and it will depend on the performance of the team for an extension as the Bankers will have shirts and other things from the company.
