The gap left by Christopher Nyambose at Bangwe All Stars as the head Coach some months ago is still causing unhealed wounds at the Club as they are now back hunting for a replacement.
After the departure of Nyambose who cited health reasons, Bangwe All Stars appointed former FOMO FC Coach, Mapopa Msukwa to lead the technical panel.

However, the contract of Mapopa as an interim coach expired and he failed to take the team to further heights suffering further disappointments.
By the time the contract was expiring, Msukwa and his backroom staff managed to accumulate just 2 points against the targeted 10 and they beat Chitipa United after the expiry of the contract.
“The Board and Management of Bangwe All Stars FC would like to inform the football fraternity and the general public that interim coach Mapopa Msukwa’s reign came to an end on 31st May 2024,” reads in part the announcement.
Chikumbutso Mathumba, the Club’s Chief Executive Officer confirmed the development in an interview saying that they are looking for a new Coach as the interim has failed to reach the given target.
Mathumba said after Nyambose left the teams decided to take Mapopa Msukwa as an interim coach where he was been given a target of 5 games to bag 10 points which he failed by bringing in 2 points.
He said, “It is true that we are looking for a new Coach. The interim Coach Mapopa Msukwa has failed to meet the target which we gave him. We want a Coach who can serve us from the relegation zone and stay in the league”.
Sports analyst, Edwin Mbewe said Bangwe were not supposed to release the vacancy but instead, the team were supposed to appoint the person they want to be the Coach because this will take a lot of time.
“I don’t think the decision is good. They could have just pointed the one they want instead of the vacancy because this will take much time,”said Edwin Mbewe
Currently, Bangwe All Stars are fighting for the relegation to serve themselves as they are on 14th with 6 points out of 9 games.
