Dedza Dynamos are this afternoon taking on the defending champions, Silver strikers at Silver stadium as they hunt for consistency in the TNM Super League.
Dedza Dynamos have experienced a more erratic spell. Their last five league outings have yielded one win, two draws, and two losses, highlighting a struggle for consistent results. A goalless draw against Blue Eagles in their last match, preceded by a 2-0 loss to MAFCO FC, showcases their recent difficulties in finding the net and securing maximum points.

Positioned 12th in the league table with 15 points from 13 games, Dedza Dynamos find themselves battling to move away from the relegation zone. Their goal difference of -3 further illustrates their challenges at both ends of the pitch.
Heading into this game, Dedza are looking for an upset becoming the first team to beat Silver Strikers at Silver Stadium in a league match since Mighty Tigers in 2022 October.
Head Coach, Alex Ngwira said his boys are prepared to face the defending champions who won three of their last five matches in the league.
“Silver Strikers are a good team, in a very good form but we have also prepared because every game is different. We are also looking for a positive result and our hope is that we will achieve that.
Dedza Dynamos have failed to score in each of their last four league matches, conceding as many goals as the number of games. Since beating struggling Songwe Boarder, Dedza have lost two games and drawn twice collecting two points from possible 12.

They were beaten by Mighty Wanderers away 2-0 before playing a barren stalemate against Ekhaya at home. They were then beaten 2-0 by MaFCO FV away from home before drawing 0-0 against Blue Eagles.
As they face Peter Mgangira’s Silver Strikers, Ngwira admits that goals are becoming scarce at the club and finishing is the main problem which they have been working on during their two-week break.
“Yes, we know that we are failing to score as a team. We are having the ball but our finishing has been poor. We have been applying incentives of scoring to the boys and we hope that it wil start working.
“The two-week break has two angles. The first one is that we have had time for our injured players to recover of which is an advantage. On the disadvantage part, in football we say the big examiner of the play it’s game itself, we we have really missed those exams. We have had proper preparations and the boys look to be ready for the challenge,” he adds.
The historical head-to-head record between these two clubs is surprisingly balanced, with each side claiming one victory and two draws in their four recorded Super League encounters. However, the most recent clash paints a different picture. In December 2024, Silver Strikers delivered a resounding 5-2 defeat to Dedza Dynamos, a result that will undoubtedly be fresh in the minds of both sets of players.
