Mighty Wanderers Football Club (2021) Ltd has announced the appointment of distinguished legal professional Mr. Wapona Kita to its Board of Directors, effective immediately.
The Blantyre-based football club made the announcement on Thursday , highlighting Kita’s extensive legal background and sports administration experience as key factors in the decision.
Mr. Kita brings a wealth of legal knowledge to the club’s governance structure. He holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in Commercial Law from the University of Malawi and has accumulated two decades of practice in corporate and commercial law. His expertise in governance and compliance is expected to play a crucial role as the club works to strengthen its institutional framework.

“Mr. Kita brings an exceptional blend of legal expertise and sports administration experience to the Club,” the announcement stated, emphasizing his qualifications for the role.
Beyond his legal credentials, Kita has established himself as a recognized leader in sports administration. He holds a Certificate in International Sports Law and currently serves as Chairperson of the Judicial Commission of the Malawi Olympic Committee, where he has been instrumental in upholding integrity and fairness in Malawian sports.
His dual expertise in law and sports governance positions him uniquely to contribute to the club’s strategic direction and operational excellence.
The Board and Management of Mighty Wanderers Football Club (2021) Ltd expressed confidence that Kita’s leadership will enhance the club’s governance structure, commercial strategy, and long-term development plans. Board Secretary Chancy Gondwe signed the official announcement, welcoming Kita to his new role and inviting stakeholders to join in celebrating the appointment.
