2024 Chipiku Premier League: Villa beat Boma Strikers in Mchinji Derby

Villa 2-0 Mchinji Boma Strikers

Villa football team continued tormenting Mchinji Boma Strikers in the rejuvenated Mchinji derby. On Sunday they thrashed their rivals 2-0 at the fully parked Mchinji Community ground in the Chipiku Premier Division league group A.

Boma Strikers played well in the first half, creating chances but stumbled to score.

Villa reorganized themselves in the second half after head coach George Masito made some changes. As the match was thought to end in a stalemate, Frank Kasalika’s goal at 68th minute sent fans into rapture.

Before Boma Strikers could heal the pain of the first goal and reassemble, Villa scored a caution goal through James Ching’amba at 72nd minute.

    Mchinji Boma Strikers who has existed for over four decades now, kept pressing in the last 15 minutes to find equalizing goals but their efforts proved futile until the last whistle.

    The Villa Head Coach, Masito praised his boys for the victory saying the substitutions he made paid them dividends.

    His counterpart Chifuniro Chimkokomo, accepted the defeat saying his boys failed to utilize chances they created hence got punished while promising to go back to the drawing board to mend the mistakes.

    Since Villa FC secured a Premier division league slot from Mtsiliza United in 2021 they have dominated the Mchinji Boma derby.

    In 2022 Chipiku Premier division league season, Villa won home and away with 1-0 margins scored by Jafali John and Isaac Petro.

    Villa thrashed Mchinji Boma 2-0 in Wampira bonanza final at Mkanda ground in April this year, they went on to ashame Boma 4-1 at Mchinji community ground in Dick Agro Bonanza.

    The win took Villa to position four leap frogging Santhe ADMARC and Simbi FC in group A of the 2024 K19.8 Chipiku Premier league with 6 points from 4 games.

    The loss for Mchinji Boma Strikers was the first this season in four games they have played, currently occupying position 3 with 7 points.
