Mighty Wanderers are champions of the TNM Super League after thrashing Moyale Barracks 6-0 in a dominant display at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday afternoon, ending their eight-year wait for the title with a game to spare.
The Nomads secured the championship after FCB Nyasa Big Bullets dropped points in a goalless draw against 10-man Mighty Tigers at Mpira Stadium, allowing Wanderers to open an unassailable five-point lead at the top.

Promise Kamwendo starred with two goals, while Isaac Kaliati, Blessings Singini, Muhammad Sulumba, and an own goal from Chisomo Chiwanda completed the rout.
Wanderers started aggressively, with Dan Kudonto and Emmanuel Nyirenda testing Moyale’s defense in the opening minutes. Kudonto hit the crossbar as the hosts won six corner kicks in the first 15 minutes, with Gaddie Chirwa forcing a save from goalkeeper Jeremiah Simfukwe.
The pressure paid off in the 31st minute when an error by Simfukwe and Black Aliseni allowed Kamwendo to open the scoring. Four minutes later, Kaliati doubled the lead after Simfukwe saved attempts from Wisdom Mpinganjira and Sama Thierry Tanjong.
Kamwendo grabbed his second in the 38th minute, heading home a precise cross from Chirwa to make it 3-0 at halftime.
Wanderers continued their dominance after the break. In the 53rd minute, Sama went one-on-one with Simfukwe but missed the opportunity. He was soon replaced along with Kamwendo by Blessings Mwalilino and Muhammad Sulumba.
On the hour mark, Mwalilino’s shot was saved, and the rebound fell to Sulumba. His attempt forced an own goal from Chiwanda to make it 4-0.

Despite missing three good chances, Sulumba remained dangerous as Wanderers pressed forward. In the 83rd minute, Blessings Singini caught Simfukwe off his line with a stunning 54-meter drive to make it 5-0.
Four minutes later, Sulumba connected with a Stanley Sanudi delivery to complete the 6-0 demolition.
Wanderers head coach Bob Mpinganjira was delighted with his team’s performance and believes they deserve the championship.
“It is something we have been working on during training, and this week the boys were scoring brilliant goals, so I am happy to have won this game. We played good football this season and worked very hard. I believe we deserve to win the league,” said Mpinganjira.
Moyale Barracks head coach Prichard Mwansa was visibly frustrated with the result.
“It’s embarrassing because I have never seen this kind of result from the team. I understand that supporters will be bitter because they need results. When I was playing football, we never lost like this,” said Mwansa.
He acknowledged that a top-four finish is now impossible but vowed his team would focus on finishing strongly against Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos in their final match.
The victory gives Wanderers 68 points from 20 wins, eight draws, and one defeat. They have scored 49 goals while conceding just 12 in a remarkable defensive campaign.
Bullets remain second with 63 points from 10 wins, nine draws, and 10 defeats.
Moyale Barracks sit eighth with 39 points, having scored 28 goals and conceded 40.
This is Wanderers’ seventh league title and their first since 2017, when they claimed the championship with 69 points. The Nomads can surpass that mark if they defeat Kamuzu Barracks on the final day of the season.
