Mighty Wanderers have appointed former midfielder Sherry Msuku as interim team manager following the sudden dismissal of Steve Madeira on Wednesday.
Msuku, who had been serving as second assistant coach since the season began, will hold the position until the end of the current campaign, Chief Executive Officer Panganani Ndovi confirmed.

“Mr Msuku will be our interim team manager until the end of the season, we can confirm this,” Ndovi said.

The club’s board has remained tight-lipped about the reasons behind Madeira’s departure. Both Board Secretary Chancy Gondwe and Ndovi declined to comment, saying it was not the appropriate time to discuss the matter.
However, Madeira believes his dismissal was linked to his advocacy for improved player welfare. He revealed troubling details about conditions surrounding the team’s recent CAF Confederation Cup fixture against Jwaneng Galaxy.
According to Madeira, Wanderers players spent nine days in camp before the match but received only MK20,000 each as allowances. Additionally, players were given approximately USD300 as travel allowance—half the USD600 reportedly provided to Silver Strikers players for similar continental fixtures.
Msuku brings significant club pedigree to his new role. The midfielder played for the Nomads from 1995 to 2006, helping the team secure two Super League titles, a Carlsberg Cup, and two BP Top 8 Cups.
