The Super League of Malawi (SULOM) say they will work with the security team to prohibit the entry of beer and grass bottles in the Stadium and ensure sanity in VIP Stands so as to promote fans’ safety ahead of three derbies over the weekend.
The call has been made after it has been discovered that the entry of beer promotes violence in tensed matches and the grass bottles are used as a weapon when violences arise in different stadia in the country.

“We work with the Police and stewards not to allow beer and especially these grass bottles to enter into the stadium and recently, we have been engaging fans themselves of different teams so that we stop this tendency. We are still following that so that we prevent violence in our football.” He said.
He also vendors who sell different products at the VIP Stands will be restricted because as seats for Very important Persons, safety has to be guaranteed so security will be tight during the derbies.
He has since asked fans and players involved in all matches to behave well so that the games end peacefully.
“These are the games that pull big crowds but we are edging all supporters to come and support their respective teams. Let the best team win and we must observe sportsmanship.” He added.
