Matchweek Twelve of the 2025/26 TNM Super League served up a thrilling football spectacle—full of flair, drama, goals, and standout performances.

A total of 19 goals were netted across the country with only Prince Kachere bagging a brace in Tiger’s downfall.

Goalkeeper: Brighton Munthali (CRECK Sporting Club)
Munthali produced a standout performance in Match Week 12, keeping a clean sheet against Moyale in his team’s 1-0 win. The victory injected life into the team after going three games without a win.

Left Back: Sunganani Geoffrey (MAFCO FC)
The former Bangwe All Stars defender is settling in well at MAFCO. In Match Week 12, he helped his team keep a clean sheet against Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos in a comfortable 2-0 win. Geoffrey was voted Player of the Match for his decisive interceptions.

Center Back: Innocent Shema (Silver Strikers)
The Silver Strikers academy graduate was a solid wall in defence during Match Week 12. His heroics limited CRECK’s chances as Silver claimed a hard-fought 2-1 victory. Shema was deservedly voted Player of the Match.

Center Back: Alex Kambirinya (Mighty WakaWaka Tigers)
The 22-year-old towering defender was named Player of the Match in the clash against Mzuzu City Hammers. He weathered relentless pressure from the Hammers to help his side keep a clean sheet in a narrow 1-0 win.

Right Back: Blessings Mpokera (FCB Nyasa Big Bullets)
Enjoying arguably the best campaign of his career, Mpokera claimed his third Player of the Match accolade this season. His calmness, composure, and leadership helped tame the Cowboys in a 1-0 victory for the People’s Team.

Defensive Midfielder: Yankho Billiat (Civil Service United)
Billiat is finally getting game time and delivering for the Servants. He’s earned mentions for consistent performances, and Match Week 12 saw him bag a Player of the Match award. He anchored the midfield superbly to hold Kamuzu Barracks to a 1-1 draw.

Central Holding Midfielder: Frank Phiri (CRECK Sporting Club)
Usually known for breaking up play, Phiri turned match-winner with a rare goal that decided the tie against Moyale. The win and clean sheet lifted the spirits of a side that had gone three games without victory.

Attacking Midfielder: Chimwemwe Chunga (Mzuzu City Hammers)
Despite a loss to Tigers, Chunga wasn’t discouraged by the early penalty converted by Tigers captain Kelvin Banda. He bounced back with a dazzling display full of silk touches and clever dribbles. Though the loss denied him Player of the Match, team sponsors PLASCON PAINTS honored him as Mzuzu’s top performer.

Right Wing Forward: Francis John Mchema (Kamuzu Barracks)
Mchema scored the only goal and scooped the Player of the Match award in his team’s 1-0 win over Karonga United. The exciting winger is enjoying a dream debut season in Malawi’s top flight, with his goal proving decisive for the Yellow Submarines on the road.

Left Wing Forward: Wisdom Mpinganjira (Mighty Wanderers)
The scintillating winger is in red-hot form this season. In Match Week 12, he provided an assist against Karonga United and scored against Songwe Border United. Mpinganjira is currently the league’s top assist provider with seven. His standout performance against Songwe also earned him a Player of the Match award.

Center Forward: Prince Kachere (MAFCO FC)
Kachere might be a surprise name among the country’s top forwards, but he’s proving his worth at MAFCO. In Match Week 12, he netted a brace against Tigers in a 3-1 romp over the Kau Kau boys. His impressive display was rewarded with a deserved Player of the Match miniature.
