Blue Eagles Football Club interim coach, Declerk Nsakakuona, believes his team has shown significant improvement in their last two outings, despite only securing two points.
Nsakakuona, who took over from Eliya Kananji on an interim basis, began his tenure with a draw against Ekhaya FC before the FIFA International Break. Following the break, his side earned another draw against defending champions, Silver Strikers, at home.

In Sunday’s match at Nankhaka Stadium, Laurent Banda put the Eagles ahead in the second half with a sensational long-range effort that beat George Chikooka. However, Zebron Kalima scored late to snatch a point for the Bankers.
Speaking after the game, Nsakakuona acknowledged the draw but emphasized his team’s progress. “The boys have really improved so much in the last two matches,” he stated. “We will still sit down with them; it was just a relapse from the boys, but otherwise, we put up a good fight.”
Nsakakuona described the late equalizer as “very painful.” He added, “We can’t blame anyone for Silver Strikers’ goal. We didn’t score against Ekhaya, and we scored against Silver Strikers – we just have to praise the boys.”
Reflecting on the near-win, he commented, “We were close to winning this game; they came stronger and scored late. Some of the players are still young, they are still learning, but we put in an effort to win the game, unfortunately, we failed. It wasn’t an easy game; when we meet, it’s always a tough game.”
Blue Eagles currently sit 5th in the league with 13 points from nine games.
