The NBS Bank National Division League’s top two contenders, Mitundu Baptist and Red Lions, are set to embark on crucial away trips as Week 6 fixtures approach this weekend.
Their travels will take them beyond their usual stomping grounds in search of vital points.
Fresh off a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Chilumba Barracks, Mitundu Baptist will head north to Rumphi. They face a resilient Chintheche United side at Rumphi Stadium on Sunday, June 29, 2025, in what promises to be a challenging encounter.

Meanwhile, Red Lions, who bounced back from an opening day 1-0 loss to Baka City with four consecutive wins, will be eyeing their fifth straight victory. They journey to Balaka on Sunday to take on Ntaja United.
In contrast to the league leaders’ travels, Southern Region-based teams Bangwe All Stars and FOMO FC will continue to play their matches closer to home. All five of their opening fixtures have been contested within the Southern Region.
The “Amaghetto Kids,” Bangwe All Stars, return to Mpira Stadium on Sunday to welcome struggling Mchinji Villa. Similarly, FOMO FC will host another winless side, Ndirande Stars, at Mulanje Park Stadium.
Elsewhere, Jenda United will be desperate for their first points of the season when they face an unbeaten Baka City side at Kasungu Stadium on Saturday, June 28, 2025. Jenda United has endured a difficult start, losing all five of their opening matches, while Baka City boasts an impressive record of two wins and three draws.
In another Saturday fixture, Chilumba Barracks will host Namitete Zitha at Karonga Stadium.
Chilumba Barracks is also seeking their maiden win, having recorded two draws and three losses so far. Their opponents, Namitete Zitha, come into the game with a more favorable record of three wins, one draw, and one defeat.
