Speaking on Sunday during the official launch Mpinganjira who is a spouse to the business magnet, Dr. Thom Mpinganjira, said the trophy will promote sports and help chronically ill children in different schools to go to school.
“When a child is suffering from strange disease they conclude that it’s witchcraft so our foundation want to reach out as the children drop out school,” said Mpinganjira.
She said the foundation will work hand in hand with teachers to identify children who abscond from school for a week and follow up.
The league is targeting children both in primary and secondary schools.

During the launch, Chiwale Secondary played against Chikonde CDSS, while Chikonde Model Primary tussled with Kaponda Primary School.
On the other hand, social teams, Neno United played against Neno Eagles FC.
All participating teams were presented with ‘Triephonia Mpinganjira League’ branded kits.
Former Malawi National Netball Team shooter Mary Waya and comedian Andrea ‘Mr. Jokes’ Thonyiwa graced the event.
However, the launch was spiced up by a police parade, music performances by Amapiano, Zeze Kingston.
Mpinganjira who comes from the same district in Traditional Authority Kambale has distanced herself from direct involvement in politics as she wants her foundation to settle in Neno and in turn produce future leaders.
Africa Child Foundation has other branches in Kasungu and Salima. It aims to improve the lives of African children with education, health intervention and child protection.
