Richards Bay FC co-coach Ronnie Gabriel believes that their new signing Gabadinho Mhango will perform well and score a lot of goals this season as his experience allows him to do so.
Gabriel said this before the team’s MTN 8 Quarter final match against Mamelodi Sundowns in response to his worry over the departure of star forward Yanela Mbuthuma to Orlando Pirates.

The Mbuthuma was a key figure for the Natal Rich Boyz last season giving a headache to the team in their attacking options but Gabriel insists the club has replaced him with a very good player equally to him.
“If you speak about Mbuthuma, he was a loss to the team. He did very well for us last season,” Gabriel told the journalists. “He got us a few goals and it’s good that he went to a team like Pirates, but we managed to replace him with Mhango. We went for the like-for-like, who’s a quality striker,” the coach said.
Mhango joined the team on a free transfer from Marumo Gallants and made his debut in their 4-0 MTN8 quarter-final defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Sunday evening.
However, Gabriel still believes Mhango will score a lot of goals for the team once he settles in the team
“We believe that he’s got goals in the PSL. Maybe he could give us the goals that Mbuthuma gave us last season. The signings we made were like-for-like signings,” Gabriel added.
Mhango has played for different clubs in South Africa but made name when he won the League with Bidvest Wits in 2017 before winning the golden boot award with Orlando Pirates in 2020.
