Malawi international forward Gabadinho Mhango, 32, is reportedly on the verge of joining Richards Bay FC in the Betway Premier Soccer League this summer, as his contract with Marumo Gallants nears its expiry.
Mhango will become a free agent at the end of this month, following an earlier announcement by his agent that the former FCB Nyasa Big Bullets player would depart Marumo Gallants.
Should the move materialize, Richards Bay will become Mhango’s eighth club in the Premier Soccer League since he first arrived in South Africa in 2013, joining Bloemfontein Celtic from FCB Nyasa Big Bullets.

His 13-year competitive career has also seen him feature for Golden Arrows, Bidvest Wits, Orlando Pirates, AmaZulu, Moroka Swallows, and most recently, Marumo Gallants.
Mhango spent just one season with Gallants, having made the switch after Bahlabane Ba Ntwa acquired Moroka Swallows’ top-flight status due to the latter’s financial difficulties.
The Malawian international enjoyed a promising start with the Bloemfontein-based side under then-head coach Dan Malesela.
This past season, the 32-year-old featured in 25 matches across all competitions for Gallants, registering five goals and one assist.
His agent, Mike Makaab, confirmed to FARPost that Mhango will indeed part ways with the Abram Sello-owned club when his contract concludes next month.
“I can tell you that Gabadinho Mhango will leave Marumo Gallants at the end of the season and join a new club,” Makaab stated.
“When you look at Mhango and how he has performed at his club, he has given it his all, but he will definitely leave at the end of the season.”
