Silver Strikers Vice Captain Maxwell Paipi has left Malawi for Zimbabwe, where he is expected to sign a contract with FC Platinum, the Zvishavane-based club in Midlands Province.
The versatile defensive midfielder and central defender is out of contract at the Area 47-based side after five solid seasons with the club since his promotion from the reserve team.

Paipi bid farewell to his teammates following their final fixture on December 27 against Blue Eagles, with his move to Zimbabwe now imminent.
The 25-year-old, who captained the Flames during the 2025 Africa Nations Championship qualifiers against Comoros and South Africa—including matches at the COSAFA Cup—has been instrumental in Silver Strikers’ defense over recent seasons.
While Paipi has agreed terms with FC Platinum, details of his contract have yet to be disclosed by either party.
Wa Mpira reported earlier that both Paipi and his defensive partner Nixon Mwase will depart Silver Strikers at the end of the season. The pair formed a formidable partnership at the heart of the Bankers’ defense, helping secure the TNM Super League title in 2024 and the FDH Bank Cup in 2025.
FC Platinum, one of Zimbabwe’s top clubs, will be hoping Paipi’s experience and leadership qualities can bolster their squad for the upcoming season.
Silver Strikers are meanwhile yet to announce the departure or their vice captain.
