Head coach Enos Chatama expressed confidence in his squad after their final training session at Ellis Robbins High School Ground in Harare.
“The boys are eager to play. Everyone is showing good character and making it tough for us to choose the starting XI,” said Chatama.
He also highlighted that the team has settled well since arriving in Zimbabwe and appreciated the support from the Football Association of Malawi.
“We have been well taken care of. The boys are comfortable and focused. Credit goes to the Malawi FA for making sure we have everything we need here,” he said.
Chatama further underlined the value of experience in the squad, stressing that it will help avoid errors from past tournaments. He believes an opening win would set the tone for a strong campaign.
Team Malawi has already earned recognition off the pitch, with FAM Media Officer Collins Nsunza appointed as the COSAFA Media Officer for the tournament, while FAM Technical Manager James Sangala has joined the COSAFA Technical Study Group.
The tournament runs from September 11 to 20 in Harare.
