Mighty Wanderers will welcome back midfielder Francisco Madinga to the squad on Saturday, while last season’s Golden Boot winner Isaac Kaliati misses out due to injury, as the Nomads prepare to face Chitipa United at Kamuzu Stadium.
Madinga missed the trip to Rumphi, where the Nomads played out a 1-1 draw against Moyale Barracks, due to contractual issues. Kaliati, on the other hand, limped off in that same match and has been ruled out for two to three weeks.

The Nomads are coming up against a side that has gone six consecutive matches without conceding a goal. With goals proving hard to come by recently, head coach Bob Mpinganjira is fully aware of the challenge ahead.

“It is true that we have been struggling to score goals lately. We have only managed a goal in each of our last three games. Things are getting difficult because every team that faces us comes well prepared. But we are doing our best in training to get back to scoring more goals,” Mpinganjira said.
He also expressed his desire to return to winning ways after dropping points in Rumphi, acknowledging the strength of Saturday’s opponents.
“We will not underrate them. Chitipa United are a good side and it will be a tough game. Like I have always said, there is no small team in the league. I know they will come hard on us like all the other teams are doing, but we are very much ready for them,” he added.
The TNM Super League leaders will also be without Clement Nyondo, who is undergoing light training, while Mphatso Kamanga, Sama Thierry Tanjong, and Richard Chipuwa remain on the injury list.
A win for Wanderers will restore their six-point cushion at the top of the table. They currently sit on 33 points from 13 matches, having won 10 and drawn three.
