Another team with slim chances of winning the title is Creck Sporting Reserve, who have 18 points and are assured of a maximum of 24 points in 14 games.

Civil Sporting Reserve are fifth with 17 points, Simbi FC occupy sixth position with 15 points, while Play Football Malawi are just a point ahead of bottom-placed Lobi Young Soccer with eight points against Lobi’s seven.

General Secretary for the Central Region Football Association, Antonio Manda, has expressed satisfaction with the level of competition in the league.

“Teams have shown us that they were ready for the real battle based on their performance so far, which is good for us,” Manda said.

He commended Apostle Vitumbiko Mkandawire of Time for Victory Ministries for the support to the league.

“Teams are motivated because they know that there is something they are fighting for, a development that has led to the promotion of the game in the region,” he said.

Manda believes the region is in a better position to align with the transformation of the game agenda as championed by FAM President Fleetwood Haiya.

Wilson Bwemba of Creck Sporting Reserve is leading the top goal scorers’ chart with nine goals, followed by his teammate Emmanuel Mitole, who has eight goals, while Amani Masamba of Kalembelembe is third with five goals.
