Former club owner clarifies current role following recent disciplinary action

James Kasambala, former owner of Green Rangers FC, has issued a public statement distancing himself from the club following recent developments and what he describes as “misconceptions circulating in the public domain.”

In a statement released on August 30, 2025, Kasambala emphasized that he currently works solely as a player manager and agent, representing players from various clubs, with no operational involvement in Green Rangers FC or any specific club’s management.

The clarification comes in response to a recent fine imposed on Green Rangers FC by the Central Region Association for misconduct. Kasambala was keen to distance himself from the disciplinary action, stating that the matter occurred after his departure from club ownership.

“I bear no responsibility for the circumstances that led to this disciplinary action,” he said, adding that he was not involved in any decision-making that resulted in the misconduct and that current club management is solely responsible for addressing the matter.

Kasambala has requested that all stakeholders, fans, media, and members of the football community recognize that he has no current association with Green Rangers FC beyond his previous ownership role.

The former owner emphasized his commitment to his current work as a player manager and agent, serving players from various clubs while maintaining complete independence from any specific club’s operations.

Any inquiries regarding club ownership matters, administrative decisions, or the recent disciplinary action should be directed to the current club management, according to the statement.
