Former Karonga United towering defender, Maneno Nyoni said his hardworking spirit has paid off after leaving FCB Nyasa Big Bullets.
The 30-year-old defender who joined the Blantyre-based side from Karonga United in 2016, failed to establish himself as a starter for Bullets during his stay at the 17-time TNM Super League Champions.
He was loaned out to Masters Security in the 2019 season but failed to impress Kalisto Pasuwa after returning from a season-long loan.

Fast-forward, five years later, the towering Centre-back has established himself as a reliable and starter defender for the Military team, Moyale Barracks.
Two weeks ago, Nyoni starred during the team’s barren draw against Dedza Dynamos in his fourth consecutive start this season. With his leadership skills at the back, his ability to win duels, and making excellent blocks, he was named the player of the match.
In an interview with Wa Mpira after the game, Nyoni now a soldier said he didn’t lose trust in God after facing a chop at Bullets.
“In football, sometimes there are disappointing moments, that’s obvious,” he said. “But as for me, I wasn’t disappointed with the chop at [FCB Nyasa Big] Bullets, that’s why I am still playing football at a competitive level.
“Some of the players who were released by Bullets are not playing currently, they retired prematurely. The secret is working hard and letting God be your lighter.”
