England-based forward Shaquille Gwengwe has opened an eight-goal lead in the Southern League Premier South golden boot race after netting a hat-trick in Poole Town’s commanding 7-0 victory over Plymouth Parkway on Saturday.
Gwengwe opened the scoring in the 24th minute before adding two quick-fire goals in the 78th and 81st minutes to complete his treble.

The prolific striker has now scored 29 goals in 27 appearances across all competitions in his debut season with Poole Town, including 26 league goals. His nearest challengers in the golden boot race are Dawid Rogalski of Walton & Hersham and Ryan Seager of Havant & Waterlooville, who both have 18 goals.
The emphatic win has lifted Poole Town to second place in the table with 47 points from 24 games, though they remain 13 points behind league leaders Walton & Hersham.
