Dedza-based sides in the TVM Division One League, Chimbiya Stars and Lobi Young Soccer, have made strong starts in their opening five games of the season.
Chimbiya Stars, who are making their debut in the league after winning the district championship last season, lead the standings with 13 points. Lobi Young Soccer follow closely in second place with 12 points, with both sides drawn in Group A.
Chimbiya Stars began their campaign with a goalless draw against Simbi FC and have since secured four consecutive victories. Lobi Young Soccer, on the other hand, started with a disappointing loss to Play Football Malawi but bounced back impressively to record four straight wins of their own.
