According to FAM’s Competition Manager, Gomezgani Zakazaka, eight teams will be seeded to prevent them from facing each other in the Round of 32.
“The draw will commence with the Round of 32, where the top eight Super League teams as of the log table on Monday, July 28th, 2025, namely: Mighty Wanderers, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, Silver Strikers, Blue Eagles, Ekhaya FC, Karonga United, Civil Service United, and Kamuzu Barracks, will be seeded,” Zakazaka stated.
He further explained the draw procedure: “These seeded teams will be placed in one pot and drawn against the other 24 teams (the remaining 8 Super League teams and the 16 Regional Leagues teams) from a separate pot. During the draw involving the seeded teams, there will be an additional draw to determine the home teams in those specific matches, while for other pairings, the first team drawn will be designated as the home team.”

In the Round of 16, the winners of the Round of 32 matches will face each other to determine the eight teams that will qualify for the quarterfinals. Teams will be paired based on their match numbers, with the winner of Match Number 1 facing the winner of Match Number 16, and so on, up to the pairing of the winner of Match Number 8 against the winner of Match Number 9. In this round, the winners of matches 9-16 will serve as the home teams.
The draws for the quarterfinals and semifinals will be conducted after the Round of 16, with specific dates to be announced later.
