One of the country’s betting company, Betika, has pumped K27 million into Southern Region Football Association as they will sponsor the Division One league in the 2024 season.
This has been disclosed during a signing on ceremony on Friday as said by the Association’s Chair, Raphael Humba during the week.

Meanwhile, Betika’s representative, Gift Palavia said the company has thought of sponsoring the league because they believe in developing football from the grassroots.
“The development of Football in the country comes from this league and if we promise it, we will help to bring about new talents for the goodness of our Football.” Said Palavia.
However, SRFA Chair, Raphael Humba, said the sponsorship will go towards division one which was played without a sponsor last season with forced them to use a subvention of K15 million from FAM to support the league.
“This is a milestone for us and will help the league become more competitive this year. We are thankful for the Sponsorship and we hope our partnership lasts longer. You’ve made the right choice to come to us and we’ll give you the platform needed.” Said Humba.
The sponsorship comes a week after the company partnered with TNM Super League side, Mzuzu City Hammers where they have also pumped in K30 million including kits for the 2024 season.
This means that the league has exceeded Thumbs Up Southern Region Football League Sponsorship as their top league earns about K19.8 million for a season.
