Bangwe All Stars have adapted well to life in the NBS Bank National Division League, recording wins in their opening two fixtures in a bid to return to the TNM Super League.
After partnering with AYH Motors in a deal worth K80 million, the team responded with a 2-1 win over Jenda United in the first week, followed by a 2-0 thrashing of FOMO FC at Mpira Stadium.
The rebranded Amaghetto Kids sit in second position with 6 points, tied with leaders Mitundu Baptist, who hold a better goal difference. Despite the strong start, the team’s vice president and head coach, Isaac Jomo Osman, acknowledged the toughness of the league.

“Teams look prepared, and it’s harder than we thought before kicking off. We’re not where we are by luck, but it’s a tough league,” Osman said. He added that his team, comprising mainly of youthful players, is still in the building process.
“The boys are slowly adapting to the heat of the league. We haven’t been that impressive, but once the building process is done, we’ll say that we now have a team,” Osman said.

Bangwe is set to play their first away match of the season against Ntaja United at Balaka Stadium on Saturday, seeking to maintain their perfect start.
Osman expressed his concerns about facing Ntaja United, saying, “It’s a team we’ve been facing in the Premier Division in the past seasons. They’re a good team full of good players and coaches, so honestly, I’m afraid to face them.”
The National Division League features 12 teams competing for places in the top-flight league in the 2026-27 season. Bangwe qualified for the tournament after being relegated from the top-flight league two seasons after their promotion.
