Central Region Football Association (CRFA), has on Thursday, July 17th, 2025 donated different assorted items to Dedza district Hospital’s Pediatric ward.
The donation was done in collaboration with Reverend McLean Chimwenje of By His Grace Ministries who is also the owner of Mitundu Baptist FC and some money collected during the official launch of the TVM Central Region Division One league between Chimbiya Stars and Simbi FC played at Chimbiya Ground on June 22nd, 2025.
Speaking after making the donation, General Secretary for the association Antonio Manda emphasized on the need for the association to give back to the community through different initiatives hence the donation.

“We are committed to giving back to the community for their support towards the game in the region that’s why we are here today,” Manda said.

He also commended Reverend Chimwenje and Chimbiya Stars for contributing towards the gesture indicating that football is not only played on the field of play but also through charity works.
In his remarks, Public Relations Officer for Dedza District Health Office, Mwai Liabunya applauded the association for reaching out to the hospital.
“This initiative will go a long way in assisting guardians who lack a lot of resources for their day to day lives at the hospital and we’re appealing to other stakeholders to emulate the gesture by CRFA,” Liabunya lamented.

Speaking on behalf of her father, Sophie Chimwenje said as a family, they did not hesitate to assist following a request by CRFA as it is part of their work as By His Grace Ministries in assisting the needy.
“This is part of our family’s commitment in helping those in need as it is required by God to be helping each other,” Chimwenje said.

Chairperson for Dedza District Football Association (DDFA), Chiku Watson Babu described the initiative as timely as he thanked CRFA for always being together with them as it was with the launch of the TVM Division One league.

During the donation, CRFA officials were joined by Dedza District Football Association officials and Chimbiya Stars officials and players.
Some of the donated items include; Sobo Squash, Sugar, Washing and bathing soap among others.
